OD Avadi witnessed a significant tree plantation drive on 8th February 2025, as part of Full Creative’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. 1,650 trees were planted, including 1,000 fruit-bearing trees such as mango, jackfruit, guava, and Jamun and 650 native trees to help restore ecological balance.
This large-scale initiative aligns with Full Creative’s commitment to environmental sustainability. To date, the organization has successfully planted over 6,000 trees in collaboration with Viruksham across various locations in Chennai. Full Creative has consistently demonstrated its dedication to social and environmental causes through numerous CSR initiatives, focusing on sustainability, education, and community welfare. Their proactive approach to promoting afforestation and ecological preservation highlights their deep-rooted commitment to creating a greener and healthier world.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including the Chief Guest, Col Atul Tiwari, Commandant of OD Avadi, and the Special Guest, Shri R. Varatharajan, father of Major Mukund Varatharajan, Ashok Chakra. Shri R. Varatharajan interacted with the attendees, encouraging them to protect the environment and contribute to a greener future.
Addressing the gathering, Col Atul Tiwari highlighted the crucial role of afforestation in combating climate change and preserving biodiversity. Officers, other ranks, and families from OD Avadi actively participated, making the initiative a tremendous success.
Employees and their families from Full Creative joined the drive with great enthusiasm, actively planted the trees, and reinforced their commitment to environmental conservation. Lt Col N. Thiagarajan, General Secretary of MMF and Viruksham NGO expressed gratitude towards Full Creative for their CSR initiative. He emphasized Viruksham’s systematic approach to tree plantation, ensuring the sustainability of the initiative. He also shared insights on the long-term benefits of afforestation.
Once matured, the 1,650 trees planted during this initiative are estimated to offset approximately 75,200 pounds of carbon dioxide annually, significantly contributing to environmental preservation.
