Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose 126th Jayanthi: Felicitation for 1971 war Heroes by DR MGR Educational And Research Institute.

23 Jan 2023, Chennai, To mark Netaji Subash Chandra Bose 126 Birth Anniversary and 74th Republic Day of the nation, The Department Of Defence And Strategic Studies at Dr MGR Educational And Research Institute in Association with Akhil Bharatiya Purva Sainik Seva Parishad (ABPSSP) organised Felicitation function to distinguished veterans who played their Part in 1971 glorious victory over Pakistan which led to the creation of New Nation Bangladesh in just 13 days in South Asia.

The three distinguished Gallant Award winners who were felicitated by the president of Dr MGR Educational And Research Institute Er A.C.S. Arunkumar are:

The three distinguished and decorated war veterans interacted with the students of the university about the role of Indian Army, Navy and Airforce in 1971 Bangladesh liberation.

Rear Adm Ramsagar shared his experience as fighter pilot on board Air craft carrier ship INS Vikranth which delivered body blow to Pakistan Army in then East Pakistan. The narration of his experience created a positive impact on the students about patriotism and nation building.

Col Krishnaswami enthralled the students with his bundles of experience in many a battles in the then East Pakistan operations which motivated and inspired many students of the university to join the forces. His speech was highly impactful and narration of his experiences brought goosebumps to the audience.

Col P.Ganesh gave inspirational and motivational speech to the students about the need to serve the nation and join Armed Forces. He also told his experience as first Head of Indian mission to Antatartic where he had stayed for 480 days. Also he shared his experience of 1971 war during the course of which he was injured made the students feel proud of our Indian Army.

All the three officers emphasised on patriotism, selfless service, moral values and decipline as very important qualities required for next generation to serve the society and Nation.

Finally Lt Col Thiagarajan, Veteran ABPSSP, TN, senior Vice President spoke about the contribution of his distinguished predecessors and felt the need for more such interaction at academic level. He also spoke about Netaji’s uncomparable valour and determination which brought the audience to a spell bound.

Addl Registrar Dr Malini pande of Dr MGR Institution stressed upon the need for interaction between student fraternity and veterans to inspire next generation to become honorable and responsible citizens. She also expressed her Gratitude as a citizen to the veterans for the great service they rendered to the country.

The Head of Dept Of Defence and strategic studies at Dr MGR institution, Dr S.R.Niranjan did acknowledge the need for many such interaction and lecture to instill patriotic feeling and encourage the students to join Armed Forces.

This interaction and felicitation organised by Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute marked the celebrations of the 74th Republic Day of India.
